The Classics

Happy Friday, lovelies. I cannot believe that tomorrow is the first of August. Summer, why must you move so quickly? Don't get me wrong, I love autumn, but I really try to savor summer, especially since our winter can feel like it lasts six months! Plus I feel like everyone is rushing to the next season of life...in July I'm already hearing about fall fashion (which I adore btw, but too soon), fall lattes, and fall activities. Our culture doesn't enjoy our current season very well, we're always looking at the next one and it's so easy to miss what's special about the one we're in. Pet peeve of mine :)

Okay, rant over. This is what I wore to grab dinner with a friend the other night. Except it decided to torrential downpour before I left, so I swapped my Valentino's out for my black Hunter boots

Does anyone have fun weekend plans? Brian and I are going to dinner tonight (currently deciding between Italian and seafood!) and we have a wedding tomorrow. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful, restful weekend!

Three Things To Look For When Buying Hair Extensions

Today I am excited to be teaming up with UU Hair Extensions to introduce their products and to talk about what I would personally look for when shopping for hair extensions.

**Please note that this company did not send me their product to test for myself. Everything I've expressed has been with what I have assessed by looking through their products online.**

I personally love hair extensions and wear them regularly. When UU Hair Extensions contacted me and asked me to introduce their product, I wanted to measure their product against my own standards and see if it was something I would actually use. I was pleasantly impressed with what this company has to offer. So without further adieu, here are three things I look for when it comes to hair extensions.

1. Real Human Hair: This is a big one for me. Not only does the quality of real human hair beat the quality of synthetic hair, but it looks more natural. Looking as natural as possible is key. Furthermore, you can color, cut, curl, straighten, and style it as you would your actual hair. If you take anything away from this, ALWAYS LOOK FOR REAL HUMAN HAIR! UU Hair Extensions uses 100% remy human hair in all of their products.

2. Variety of Color and Texture: As I said before, you want your extensions to look as natural as possible. Again, if you're buying real human hair, you can always take it to your hairstylist to be matched to your actual hair, but it's even better if you can match it beforehand. Texture is important too. Many companies only offer one texture and if it's a different texture than your actual hair, it can be hard to blend in. UU Hair Extensions offer at least 17 different colors and three different textures to choose from, including Brazilian hair. You shouldn't have any problem finding the perfect match for your hair! If you are unsure about which to select, you can contact UU Hair Extensions and they will help you choose the right color and texture.

3. Appropriate Attachment Options: How do you plan to attach your extensions? I personally like to use the clip-in method so I can take them in and out of my hair depending on my hair style or daily activities. Others prefer to have a more permanent option. UU Hair Extensions offers a variety of methods to attach your extensions including my favored clip in hair extensions.

After reviewing this new extension company, I am intrigued! I really do think this company offers more options than many other extension companies out there. I would love to try it for myself and see if I love these extensions as much as I think I would!

Have you ever wanted to try extensions? If yes, what would you personally look for?

Thanks for reading!!

Wish List Wednesday: Target Love

                         | 1.  2. | 3. | 4. | 5. | 6. | 7. |

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Here are some fun items from Target that I'm loving. I think the tote (#1) resembles a Celine and the bracelet (#4) is really similar to the J. Crew one I often wear, but for a fraction of the price. Also, I love Sonia Kashuk makeup, a brand exclusive to Target. Do you love Target as much as I do?!

Buffalo Mission Trip Recap

I've been very fortunate to experience different mission trips in my life. Being involved in my youth group in high school, I had several opportunities to go serve in Mexico. I also had the wonderful experience of serving during my sophomore year of college in Costa Rica. Those were the big trips. The "smaller" trips, here in the United States have had an equal amount of impact.

Earlier this month Brian and I were able to take eight of our high school students and an additional adult leader to Buffalo, New York, to serve the residents in the area. We served with GroupLife, a ministry that develops work camps all across the United States. The ministry actually splits up the youth groups and puts people into different groups that you serve with each day of the week. Although we had time with our own youth ministries at night, during the day we were with 5-11 other strangers who had come for the same purpose. The amazing part was seeing the students embrace this model of serving...to serve with other strangers for 8 hours each day. None of our students had been on a mission trip before, so this was their first experience.

My particular group I was placed with repainted a lovely lady's home. We painted it a beautiful sky blue and learned that she had been born and raised in that home. Needless to say, this house was so special to her. She lived with her son, who was battling cancer. We got to know them very well throughout the week. They even joined our group for devotions and prayer each day, and came with us to our main session/teaching on the last night. Each student in our ministry had a different story and experience based on the group they served with each day. It was so wonderful coming together each night as a youth ministry and hearing the different stories.

There is nothing better than watching those you're leading encounter Jesus. There's nothing better than watching them show His love to those in need. As leaders, we all learn from our students and are blessed by their act of laying down their lives for a week. And in laying down their lives, we see them gain so much more.

If an incredible 1,000 page book can be summed up in one sentence, then recapping our experience would be simple. But it cannot, and I hate that so many details cannot be expressed. I realize I'm not doing it justice. But here are a few words and photos from our trip. Thank you for reading, dear readers! :)

Date Night...

| top: Forever 21 | skinnies: American Eagle | heels: Kate Spade (similar version under $30!) | clutch: Gap | sunglasses: American Apparel (almost identical F21 version for under $8!) |
| bracelets: vintage, Alex and Ani, J. Crew |

This was my "date night look" this past weekend. Every Friday Brian and I make a point to have a date. Sometimes we go out, sometimes we stay in. Whether we're eating at one of our favorite restaurants overlooking the water or making homemade pizza in the apartment, it's our time to slow down and just be together. This particular Friday, we went out to the docks and ate out on the patio at Zias. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed fettuccini alfredo and tiramisu.

I decided to pair my sparkly heels with my destroyed skinny jeans for a dressy casual look. I love the juxtaposition of the glitter and the ripped denim. Do you have a favorite "date night" look or activity?

Thanks for reading sweet friends!

So Basically Basic...

| tank: American Eagle (identical H&M version under $6!) |shorts: Target | flats: Anthropologie (similar) | crossbody: Michael Kors (similar) | sunglasses: American Apparel (similar) | bracelets: vintage, Alex and Ani |

OH HEY SUMMER WEATHER, SO NICE OF YOU TO SHOW UP! For real though, please stick around for awhile. I'm loving the sunshine, the eighty degrees, and wearing actual summer clothing. Summer, you've been missed.

Speaking of summer clothing, this tank is old, but it's identical to this H&M one, which is under $6. I love oversized tops. They're breezy, comfortable, and forgiving. Earlier in the day I had it on with leggings, running shoes, and a baseball cap for an activity with the youth and running errands. Later on, I swapped the leggings for these under $20 jean shorts from Target, some vintage bracelets, and flats.

I wore this outfit for a trip to the grocery store (could my life BE any more exciting? Said in my best Chandler Bing voice...) and then to Parker Coffee Co. to meet with my college girls. We just finished going through the book of James and are about to start going through Philippians.

So yes, cheers to a great (and very basic) day. Cheers to basic clothing. Cheers to greasy hair. Cheers to worn out Bibles, almond milk chai lattes, and perfect summer weather.

Denim Skirts for Days...

| blouse: Forever 21 (similar) | skirt: American Eagle (similar) | booties: Tory Burch (similar) | clutch: Gap | sunglasses: American Apparel (similar) | bracelets: vintage, Alex and Ani |

I love that denim skirts are "on trend" right now, though they're actually what I would call a classic. I remember the day I got this one. It was the week before my freshman year of high school and I was shopping with two of my good friends and we popped in American Eagle. This skirt was marked down to $5.00 and I snatched it up. As you can see, I'm still wearing it to this day. Denim skirts can stay in your wardrobe for years (and I mean years... 12 and counting...). I wore this denim skirt on my very first day of high school (we won't talk about the patchwork wooden platforms I wore with this skirt...) and I love that it's still in my closet. What classics have you had forever that you still wear?

Happy Monday and thanks for reading!

Insta-Lately

Happy Friday, Friends! Here's the latest from my instagram. Follow along @cmunafo

A pretty pie my mom baked to share for the 4th (this was after our failed attempt at festive macarons and a flag cake lol)

The home for the lovely family my crew had the opportunity to paint on our Buffalo mission trip.

Visiting friends in Cincinnati. We tried going to the pool, but ended up getting rained on and froze....here we are bundled under a towel!

This picture is a little older, but it was for a birthday shout out for my best friend this past week!

My little lion just has to be in the kitchen while I'm cooking. I call him my little orange shadow.

This picture just cracks me up because I look like such a mom. I take my cat-mom job seriously, you guys.

Does anyone have any fun weekend plans? Brian and I are going to look at running shoes tonight and are seeing a movie after. We have dinner plans with friends tomorrow night and Sunday is church, nap, and youth (in that order). Have a good one!

Thanks so much for reading!

Emerald City and Fresh Summer Evenings...

| blouse: Dalia Collection (similar) | skinnies: AG denim | sandals: Valentino (similar here and here) | sunglasses: American Apparel (similar) | clutch: Coach | necklace: J. Crew | bracelet: J. Crew |

Yesterday was the most gorgeous day. The temperature was perfect and the sun was shining. I have a weakness for summer evenings/nights. I don't know what it is about them, but I love the smell and the way the air feels. Summertime is my favorite after all...

Flowy blouse, skinny jeans, and lace up sandals: This is one of my favorite looks that's easy, yet comes off as put together. Husband was a big fan of this look as well, which is always a plus. Are there any Wicked fans out there? This color combo had me singing "One Short Day" all day long! If I get to see the show again, I'll keep this outfit in mind. ;)

I'm doing the Summer Style linkup today over on Mix and Match Fashion!

Wish List Wednesday: Lace Up Sandals

| 1. | 2. | 3. | 4. | 5. | 6. | 7. |

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I am FINALLY starting to feel like my life is semi-back in order from being gone for almost three weeks! The past few days have been filled with laundry, organizing, and grocery shopping....just trying to get settled and be on top of things again!

I did a round-up of some different lace-up sandals. Did you all see the post with my new Valentino lace up sandals that I scored on major sale? I was pretty excited because they're still selling for full price on some sites! I think lace-up sandals are the perfect shoe for summer and I am trying to eat up all the summer I can, even if we haven't had normal summer weather here in Ohio. The bright pink ones (#7) are under $20! Which ones are your favorite?

Easy Summer Afternoons

| tee: Target | skinnies: American Eagle | bracelet: J. Crew | wedges: Kate Spade |

| necklaces: Tiffany & Co. (similar) and Etsy |

This Etsy necklace is inspired by Marie from the Aristocats. A young lady in my college Bible Study group bought Disney character necklaces for each girl based on her favorites.  Is that not the sweetest idea?

| bracelets: American Eagle, Alex and Ani |

I included a couple different photos from when I wore this outfit on two occasions. One was while visiting family at home, the other was after I was hanging with the youth here in Toledo. Maybe now would be a good time to mention that my husband is a youth pastor? That's what brought us to Toledo, actually!

You all know how I love jeans, a tee, and heels, and this is another of those wonderful Target tees. They're so inexpensive and I wear them all the time. I also love these incredibly comfy distressed AE jeggings.

Have a Terrific Tuesday! Thank you for reading.
